The Vietnam Electric Power Show is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and other authorities. It is a key national trade promotion project of Vietnam and the only power-specialized exhibition in the country that receives key government support. With Vietnam's rapid economic development and its annual power demand growth reaching significant levels, the country has announced its updated Eighth Power Development Plan, which projects commercial power demand to reach 500 billion kWh by 2030, with the share of renewable energy (excluding hydropower) rising to 28–36%. During the 2026–2030 period, Vietnam's power investment is expected to exceed USD 100 billion, with urgent demand for upgrading transmission and distribution infrastructure.
